2023 Toyota Corolla recalls

Driver airbag may not deploy in crash

Injury risk

A weld inside the steering column's spiral cable can break apart, which turns off the driver's airbag. Without it working, the driver is more likely to be injured in a crash.

Fix: The dealer will inspect the spiral cable assembly and replace it if needed, at no cost to you.

Recall 25V040000 · Jan 2025

Steering shaft may fracture and detach

Crash risk

Cracks from manufacturing can cause the steering intermediate shaft to break, and the shaft may separate from the steering column. If that happens, the driver can lose steering control and the risk of a crash goes up.

Fix: The dealer will replace the intermediate steering shaft free of charge.

Recall 24V878000 · Nov 2024

Weak weld can disable driver's airbag

Injury risk

A connection inside the steering column's spiral cable may not be welded firmly enough, so it can separate and switch off the driver's airbag. If the airbag does not deploy as designed in a crash, the driver faces a higher risk of injury.

Fix: The dealer will inspect the spiral cable assembly and replace it if needed, at no cost to you.
