2023 Honda Pilot recalls

Pedals and linkages

The brake pedal pivot pin was not secured properly, which can cause the pedal to shift out of position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment" and 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems." A brake pedal that shifts out of position can prevent the driver from applying the brakes as intended, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake pedal assembly as necessary, free of charge. Honda's numbers for this recall are FLX and XLY.

Software, Fuel injection system

Can stall

A software error in the fuel injection electronic control unit (FI-ECU) may cause an engine stall or a loss of power. An engine stall or loss of power can increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Fix: Dealers will reprogram the FI-ECU software, free of charge. Honda's numbers for this recall are EL1 and AL0.

Recall 25V031000 · Jan 2025

Fuel filler pipe may separate and leak

Fire risk

The fuel filler neck tube and pipe can come apart, letting fuel leak out. If that fuel meets an ignition source, it can cause a fire.

Fix: Dealers will inspect the fuel filler neck tube and pipe and repair them as needed, at no cost to you.

Recall 24V900000 · Nov 2024

Driver's seat may come loose

Injury risk

The driver's seat frame may not have been tightened properly, so the seat can become unsecured. In a crash, an unsecured seat may not hold the driver in place, which raises the risk of injury.

Fix: The dealer will replace the driver's seat cushion frame free of charge.

Recall 24V859000 · Nov 2024

Loose bearing can cause loss of steering

Crash risk

A manufacturing error may leave a loose ball bearing inside the steering gear box. This can cause you to lose steering control or cause the steering to lock up, which raises the risk of a crash.

Fix: The dealer will replace the electric power steering rack free of charge.
